Community Guidelines
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Storyds is for stories you can finish in one sitting. These guidelines keep it a place people want to read and write. They apply to everything you publish: titles, stories, cover photos and your username.
1. Write your own work
Publish stories you wrote. Don't copy other people's writing, and credit any lines you quote. Fan fiction is fine as long as it's your own writing.
2. Dark themes are welcome, cruelty isn't
Fiction can go to hard places, and the Dark genre exists for that. Stories may deal with loss, violence, crime or fear. What's not allowed is content made to shock or hurt: graphic gore for its own sake, or anything that celebrates real-world violence.
3. No sexual content
Romance is welcome, but keep it suggestive rather than explicit. Any sexual content involving minors is banned and reported to the authorities.
4. No hate or harassment
Don't attack people or groups for who they are, including race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality. Don't write stories to target, mock or threaten a real person.
5. Don't encourage self-harm
Stories can explore mental health honestly. They must not encourage or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you're struggling, please reach out to a local helpline.
6. Respect privacy
Don't share anyone's personal information, such as their real full name, address, phone number or photos, without their permission.
7. No spam or scams
No repeated posts, ads, links to sell things, or attempts to trick readers.
8. Report and block
If a story breaks these rules, open it, tap ••• and choose Report story. You can also block a writer to stop seeing their stories. Reports are private: the writer isn't told who reported them.
9. What happens when rules are broken
We remove content that breaks these guidelines. Depending on how serious it is, we may warn the writer, suspend their account or remove it for good. Contact support@storyds.app if you think we got it wrong.
